WALT Build a model bridge to show understanding of forces and tension

We are learning about tension and compression. We looked at an image of 'Benjamin Baker and the Cantilever model.' We discussed the forces acting on the bridge and what these forces were called. We used k-nex to build a Cantilever bridge demonstrating we understand tension and compression. We self evaluated our bridge models discussing how each part of the structure makes it work and what we could do to improve the strength of our bridge. We also peer assessed each groups bridge. We were very interested in learning about how each group reinforced the strength of their structure.
