Practical Maths

The primary3/4 class recently carried out practical activities using non standard measures and weights.  The primary 3 class compared the weight of objects, predicting their order before using scales to weigh the objects to verify if they had ordered correctly. They then used non standard units to confirm the order.  They also looked at units of weight and found objects close to given weights. The primary 4 class discussed the kilogram finding objects weighing more than, less than and about 1 kilogram before looking at grams and weights more than the kilogram.
