Our Week in Reception and Primary One
What a busy week of work we have had! We sang, clapped and sequenced the Nursery Rhyme Humpty Dumpty, we built a wall for Humpty using card, glue and scissors, and had our first gallery session as we looked at the work of everyone in the class, we even awarded one person a star for a safe and sturdy wall for Humpty. We had a go at drawing Humpty and tried our best to remember all the important parts of Humpty, such as his eyes, nose, mouth, legs and arms...Mrs Armstong was very impressed with all of our Humptys.
We practiced our listening skills during P.E by playing lots of listening games with our friends. We went on a listening walk around the inside and outside of our school and heard some wonderful sounds along the way, lorises reversing, different types of birds, the busy chatter of the classrooms and the hard work of Mrs Devlin as she typed on the computer and talked on the phone.
We practised our sorting skills by grouping items together that are the same. We even had a go at writing the numbers 1 and 2... Mrs Armstrong was delighted to see how well we could write!
Most importantly we spent time with old friends and made lots of new friends. We chatted together, ate together, played together, helped each other and showed kindness to one another. 😊
