Measurement
This week in numeracy P2/3 have been learning about measurements.
Primary 3 have been introduced to Kilograms and Grams, whilst Primary 2 are using non-standard units and discovering objects that are heavy, light and objects that are the same weight!
Bother classes used a set of scales.
Primary 3 felt the weight of Kg weights and were surprised at how heavy they felt. They shared objects such as a bag of potatoes, thick books and a bucket of sand. They then predicted the weight of these objects.
We found a bag of potatoes to weigh 2Kg and to our surprise most of our predictions were right, what a clever bunch!
Primary 2 were also predicting the weight of objects, they weighed objects such as books, scarfs, shoes, pencils and many more! They had to predict how many cubes, pegs or beads the object would weigh.
Both classes done a great job at this task.
A big well done to them!
