In Primary 6 we are studying 'Danny the Champion of the World.'
Danny lived in a world very different from our lives today. To bring our learning experiences to life we had the opportunity of investigating a local Gypsy caravan similar to the one Danny lived in.
We used the setting of the Gypsy caravan to write our own story openings. We looked at some of the story openings from our favourite stories, We also used Roald Dahl's description of the gypsy caravan and adjectives we had thought about to write our story openings.
Inside the amazing little gypsy caravan was where I lived with my father.

What a rainbow of amazing colours the gypsy caravan had and to my father and I it was as colourful on the inside.

Maybe it happened by chance that the majestic little gypsy caravan was our house and our home.

Sometimes I look at our gypsy caravan and although it was old and rickety it was the most sensational home in the world.

I've never minded that my father and I lived in a gypsy caravan. It was old and rickety but it was our home.

A perfect miniature gypsy caravan sat misplaced beside the old petrol station. Well it was probably only perfect to me and my father.

I'm Danny and I live with my father in what we thought was the most magnificent gypsy caravan.

I should begin at the beginning but our monumental little gypsy caravan was so old and rickety, the beginning was way before I was born.

To my dad and I our home was the most beautiful and magical little place. To anyone else it was just an old rickety gypsy caravan.

Caravans come in many different sizes but I have to tell you ours was very small but to us it is our home and it is brilliant.

I sometimes think about the phenomenal gypsy caravan sitting misplaced on the edge of the woods, old and rickety with fine patterns decorating the wooden walls. This was our house and our home.
By Caitriona
I assume nobody thought there was anything special about our old gypsy caravan. It wasn't large enough for many people but it was the most calm and peaceful home anyone could ever wish for.

The old rickety gypsy caravan sat propped up on bricks. It was painted with fine patterns decorating the wooden walls. To us it was home.

The exuberant gypsy caravan looked misplaced beside the petrol station. There were wooden walls and fine patterns decorating it. It was beautiful, exhilarating and majestic. How lucky my dad and I were to live here in our peaceful little home.
