Coronavirus
We are provided with information from the Public Health Agency (PHA) with regard to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) on a regular basis www.publichealth.hscni.net/news/covid-19-coronavirus
As a precautionary measure, we would like to share information about the virus and what to do to help prevent the spread of the infection.
The symptoms of Coronavirus are:
- A cough
- A high temperature / fever
- Shortness of breath
However, these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness.
Simple steps to prevent the spread of the virus includes:
- Washing hands often with soap and water for 20 secs.
- Catch it, Bin it, Kill it - Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin.
What to do if your child is unwell at home:
- If your child is unwell at home and has any of the above symptoms, ie cough, temperature, fever, you are advised not to send them to school.
- Ring your GP or 111.
- If you or your child are experiencing any of the COVID-19 symptoms, please stay at home and telephone the school.
- If a pupil is tested for the virus, please telephone the school.
If a pupil is unwell at school:
- The Parent / Guardian will be contacted immediately to collect their child.
