On Monday 11th September, pupils from Primary 4 to Primary 7 commenced the Accelerated Reading programme. This programme will be completed on three occasions throughout the school year and is designed to promote and develop a love of independent reading.
The first period of accelerated reading will run between now and the 15th December. During this time pupils will read books at a level of difficulty which is personal to each individual and optimal for reading development. On completion of each book the pupils will complete online quizzes in an effort to gain points towards personal reading targets. The children are aware of their own targets and we would encourage the parents to take an active role in their children's progress in the Accelerated Reader Programme.
