R/P.1. WB 5/9/22

✨😍 An amazing week of learning in R/P.1. 😍✨

Literacy:

We have been working on our listening skills. We went out to the playground for a listening walk and we heard so many different sounds in our environment. On our return to the classroom we talked about everything we heard.

Then we investigated making sounds in the playground with our tapping sticks. We hope you enjoy listening to the variety of sounds we discovered.

We are getting our bodies ready for writing by investigating circle shapes through playing games and using rainbow ribbons.

Numeracy:

We talked about different ways of sorting, for colour, for shape and for size. We talked about circles and found circle shapes in our environment.

Play:

We have played inside and outside this week, creative play in the paint, with chalks and in the loose parts. We have had sensory play in the sand and water. We enjoyed small world play with the farm animals, trains and dinosaurs. We developed our gross motor skills riding the trikes, playing on the balance boards and trying out some target games. Throughout our play we built friendships, shared, negotiated, discussed, discovered and developed our fine and gross motor skills.....and much, much more!!! We even took a trip to the Rock Walkway to complete our first Daily Mile of the school year.

We hope you enjoy looking through the pictures and videos of our first days at school in 2022. We will look forward to a rest on Saturday and Sunday...ready to do it all again on Monday!
