P2/3 Busy Bees 🐝
P2/3 have been investigating the life of the honey bee. 🍯 Today, we watched a video showing how a Bee keeper can extract honey from a hive.
We had great fun trying on a Bee keeper's smock and gloves and discussed the importance of these items.
We used magnifying 🔎 glasses to make observations about a new frame and compared it to an used frame with some honeycomb still attached.
We also got the chance to look closely at the body of a honey bee. We could see it's antennae, thorax, distinct colouring and wings. 🐝
Finally, we got the chance to compare shop-bought squeezey honey to natural unprocessed honey. To be honest, a show of hands showed that we loved both! 😍
